November 26th Free Charlie A’Court Concert and talk with Silver Donald Cameron!
The fourth round of the Cool – Truro Colchester Energy Reduction Contest is underway! This year there are categories for both households and businesses, and the contest will run from December to February. Those who make the greatest reductions win some great prizes and all contestants will be invited to a recognition event in March.
The Big Cool Saturday on November 26th will officially launch the contest. It’s a chance to learn how to cut power consumption, reduce waste and shift toward a more sustainable, eco-friendly lifestyle. The whole event is free, and family-friendly!
The day will start with a bus trip to the Efficiency NS Demonstration Homes. Featuring some of the highest energy-efficiency options currently available in residential construction, the demonstration homes will provide the opportunity to learn how to incorporate new building techniques and products. Don’t miss out; reserve your spot on the bus.
The Green Living Fair will take place at the NSCC Cafeteria from 1 to 5 pm. There will be free locally- made snacks, hot drinks and soup; child care and activities for kids; live music; draw prizes and other giveaways. The exhibitors will be providing lots of useful information and materials, as well as giving talks. It’s sure to be a fun and interesting afternoon!
In the evening Silver Donald Cameron with Efficiency Nova Scotia will present; ‘Taking Charge: Saving Money, Making Jobs and Helping the Planet’ and Charlie A’Court will then give a free concert. The free talk and performance start at 7:00 pm at the Marigold Cultural Centre. Please use the website or get in touch to reserve your seat.
